|Description:||Mental Health America of Indiana is seeking a full time individual for the position of Director of the Public Assistance Ombudsman Program (Director). The Director implements the terms of the PA Ombudsman contract with FSSA Division of Family Resources (DFR). The Director coordinates staff to provide Ombudsman services to individuals receiving, applying for, or who have questions about Indiana's Public Assistance programs including Medicaid, TANF and SNAP (food stamps). The Director is responsible for accurate record keeping of all Public Assistance Ombudsman calls and interactions, and the completion and timely submission of quarterly and annual Ombudsman reports to DFR.|
Bachelor's Degree in related field required along with a minimum of three to five years experience in the field of public health and assistance. Must have working knowledge of all public assistance systems, and a working knowledge of ICES is preferred. Advanced Degree preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and possess strong organization skills. The ability to work with a diversity of individuals is essential. A current Indiana Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance is required due to statewide travel.
